How eBay search rank works

eBay's Best Match algorithm ranks listings by relevance, seller performance, price and listing quality. Your rank for a given keyword tells you how many competing listings appear above yours — the lower the number, the more visible you are.

Rank is not fixed: it changes as other sellers list, delist and change prices. Checking regularly after optimising your title, photos or item specifics shows whether the changes moved the needle.

Questions

Where do I find my eBay item ID?

Look at your listing URL on eBay. It ends in a number, for example ebay.co.uk/itm/123456789012. That number is your item ID. You can also find it in Seller Hub under your active listings.

Why might my listing not be found?

The checker scans up to 2,000 results — the first ten pages eBay returns. Listings that rank below position 2,000 for the searched keyword won't appear. Try searching the keyword yourself on eBay to confirm your listing appears at all.

Does checking my rank affect my listing?

No. The checker calls eBay's Browse API, which is what buyers use to search. It doesn't interact with your Seller Hub or affect impressions.

Which markets are supported?

eBay UK, US, Australia and Germany — the same four markets SoldPulse uses for research. Each market has its own search index, so your listing's rank on eBay.co.uk and eBay.com can differ.
