What makes a good eBay title
- Use the space. eBay allows 80 characters, and every word is a chance to match a search. Most strong titles use 65–80.
- Lead with what it is. The product, in the words buyers type, then the details they filter on: brand, model, size, colour, material, quantity.
- Skip filler. Words like "L@@K", "WOW" or "amazing" aren't searched for and eBay's own guidance asks sellers to leave them out.
- No symbols or all caps. They don't help search, look like spam and are harder to read.
- Brands only if you're allowed. Rights owners in eBay's VeRO programme report listings that use their name without permission.
- Say each word once. Repeating a keyword doesn't rank you higher; use the characters for another detail.

Questions
How long can an eBay title be?
80 characters, including spaces. eBay won't accept a longer title.
What is VeRO?
eBay's Verified Rights Owner programme: brands and rights owners who report listings that infringe their trademarks or copyright. Listings can be removed and accounts restricted, so only use a brand name for genuine items you're allowed to sell.
Does a perfect score mean my listing will rank?
No. The checker catches common mistakes; ranking also depends on price, photos, item specifics, postage and your seller history.
Is my title stored?
No. It's checked and the result is sent back; nothing is saved.
