Seasonal demand is predictable: Christmas, Black Friday, Valentine's Day and back-to-school come round every year. The sellers who do best source early, list early and are ranking by the time buyers arrive. The Seasonal Calendar helps you plan for that, and it's free for everyone.
Using the calendar
- Browse the month grid to see upcoming shopping events, with a countdown to each.
- Select an event for keyword ideas, such as gift and product types that typically sell around it.
- Click a keyword to open a live Search for it (you'll need to be logged in), and check real sold numbers and competition before committing.
The events and keyword ideas are a hand-picked editorial list, not measured search volumes. eBay doesn't publish search volumes to anyone, so use them as starting points and let Search and Market Insights confirm demand.
A simple seasonal timeline
- 8–10 weeks before: pick candidates from the calendar, check them in Search and the Fee Calculator, and order samples.
- 4–6 weeks before: list, so your listings have time to collect views and sales before the rush. Build titles with Title Builder.
- During the peak: track your listings and competitors, and watch stock levels and postage times.
- After: discount what's left quickly, because seasonal demand drops sharply.
Check last year's pattern: if a seasonal niche shows in Market Insights weeks before the event, demand is building. That's your signal to stock up.
